Your space is confirmed once payment has been received.

By booking a space it is agreed that you:

Agree to your child taking part in Stay and Play Forest School activities.

Understand sessions will be led by a trained Forest School Leader.

Understand that whilst your child is attending sessions, they are still under your care and remain your responsibility at all times.

Understand that my child needs to be dressed appropriately for outdoor activities (please see FAQ for clothing list).

Understand that activities will take place in an outdoor setting where my child may come into contact with uneven ground, natural materials, biting or stinging insects or plants that may cause skin irritation. I understand that I am responsible for my child at all times.

Take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of your child but understand that emergency first aid is available should the need arise and healthcare professionals may be called in an emergency.

Health & Safety

The site will have been risk assessed prior to the session and there are risk assessments available for all planned activities. The nature of Forest School is child led so I lead by example and ask that carers support me and their children to adhere to the safety rules (eg, stay outside the fire circle, use tools under guidance in the designated area and follow leader’s instructions).

There are clear paths around the site and you are welcome to explore beyond the paths but please be mindful of flora and fauna. The site used for Forest School sessions is fenced with gate access. This will be unlocked and closed during these sessions.

Children will have the opportunity, at an appropriate level, to work with hand tools and small fires during Forest School sessions (activity and weather permitting).

Dogs are not allowed to these Forest School sessions and there is a strict No Smoking policy.

Safeguarding

Green Earth Learning adheres to the Safeguarding Policy of Chelmsford City Council, available at www.chelmsford.gov.uk/safeguarding The Forest School Leader holds an enhanced DBS Certificate and up to date Safeguarding training.

Damage to Personal Property

Green Earth Learning cannot take responsibility for any personal property that is lost or damaged during sessions.

Carer Responsibility

These sessions are Stay and Play sessions and are designed to encourage learning and play with your child as well as developing social skills and independence. Your child will remain your responsibility throughout the session.

Toileting

There are public toilet facilities in Hylands Park which may be used by Forest School attendees.

Cancellation

Sessions will run in all weathers unless there are high winds forecast (approx 30mph) or thunder and lightning close by. The weather forecast will be checked prior to the session and participants will be informed via the Facebook page and text message/email if a session needs to be cancelled.

Refunds

Unfortunately these cannot be given if you are unable to attend. If you wish for someone else to take your place please email beforehand to ensure I have their full details. I will try to resell your session for you if sufficient notice is given (at least 48 hours). Refunds will be given or alternative sessions offered if weather dictates that we need to cancel a session.

Privacy

Your information will not be used for any other purpose than the Forest School sessions at Hylands Park.

Feedback

Please do give feedback on the sessions, whether there is something that you would like covered in the future, or if you

have any concerns about an activity. You can speak to me in person, telephone or drop me an email.
