Welcome to

Green Earth Learning

Play. Learn. Connect.

The aim of Green Earth Learning is to use nature as a tool to help us connect children to their world. We offer outdoor learning programmes following the Forest School principles in schools and the community as well as educational resources to support learning through play.

Play is at the heart of everything we do. If we 'Play' in, with and around nature we begin to 'Learn' about it. With this knowledge we can then 'Connect' to it and begin to make positive changes to our world.

Come and join us outdoors!

Holiday Sessions

Look out for holiday and weekend sessions on our booking site. These sessions are suitable for children up to age 7. They are run from our Forest School site at Hylands Park in Chelmsford. Woodland crafts, treasure trails, building dens, playing in the mud kitchen - there's something to keep everyone happy.

We can bring everything to you! If you have an outdoor area you would like to make full use of, we can offer Forest School block sessions. Contact us with your details and we can discuss your requirements.

University Taster Sessions

Come and find out what it's all about. We have worked with  Early Years Education students to give them a taster of Forest School. Are you a university lecturer? Please contact us to let us know how we can help to give your students a real flavour of our Forest School site.

Our ever growing range of nature inspired products is something we are really proud of. Whether that's a book, an activity kit, a sensory board or a small world toy, everything we stock has a link to nature - and of course a play value! #playlearnconnect

In addition to stocking products from other amazing small businesses, we also create our own, so you'll see a lovely range of handmade wooden resources to support learning and encourage exploration. Our wooden and soft UKCA/CE certified resources and gifts are again inspired by nature and also individually hand painted or handmade - ethically made and not mass produced.

We hope to provide a one stop shop for your little nature lover and help you gift something that's a little bit different at the same time.

Our Under 5s session is based within a wooded fenced off area at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex. With free parking and easy access to the site, it provides the perfect setting. Learning is child led so that may be rustling up something in the mud kitchen, exploring the site for bugs or creating woodland crafts; each child's interests are taken into account and developed wherever possible. There are hand washing facilities on site, hot drinks and snacks around the campfire for the children. We hope that you'll come down and join us!

Holiday Sessions

These sessions take place in the same setting as our Under 5s Sessions. During the holidays we open up to older children - up to the age of 7. The little ones often bring their older siblings to enjoy playing together in the outdoors. Sessions are often themed for the time of year and include treasure hunts and the usual woodland activities. These sessions fill up quickly so if you would like to come along make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.

We bring everything to you! Do you have an outside space you would like to use? If so, please make contact and we will come along for a site visit and discuss your requirements. We've worked across the primary year groups to offer half termly blocks as well as working for a longer period of time with specific children. We have a flexible approach!

University Taster Sessions

Come on down to Hylands Park in Chelmsford and experience it from the child's point of view. Why not book a private session to show students what it's all about? It helps to bring all that learning alive and make those connections to the curriculum in a practical way. Experience it as the children would (with the added bonus of tea and coffee!); see how the outdoors impacts on the holistic development of the child and pick up lots of tips to help your future practice. As practitioners a trip to the woods will not only benefit you but the children you will have the privilege to teach in the future.
